Our classroom library shelves are almost bare. The few books we do have are mostly old, broken translations of books that were written originally in English. This diverse urban classroom deserves better. It deserves books as special, imaginative and authentic as the students that make up the class. These books will help create a classroom library that will inspire my students to discover new ways of life, believe in themselves, and build their Spanish language skills! These books written originally in Spanish address a variety of reading levels, allowing native and non-native Spanish speakers the opportunity to journey on adventures throughout real and imaginary worlds. The power of story telling remains a pivotal experience in language acquisition.  It is at the center of knowledge. Help me stock the shelves of this classroom library and provide each one of my students with a year full of literary adventures!
