Children today have a lot of social and emotional needs. It is my job as an educator to provide an environment in which they learn how to express themselves in appropriate ways. We will be using these engaging texts to teach different social and emotional skills. Each week we will focus on one topic. The students will be able to reflect on the characters' situations as well as connect the characters' situations to their own lives. They will practice applying them in real life situations, with the hope that they become learned skills. Once the social-emotional needs are met, academic learning can begin!
