Writing is the key that opens the world to a child's inner imagination. I am a special education teacher who works with fourth and fifth grade students. There are about four hundred students in our school and we have about 80% of our students who receive free lunches. Each month our classes are responsible for teaching our students a new writing pieces. At times our students can be coming from some bad home life situations and writing gives them an oppurtunity to express themselves without being scorned. Writing is an outlet that allows our student to develop and grow creatively.
