In a world where social networking seems to be taking over...kids need to get back to the basics and play! The best way to teach them social skills is by playing together. Even though it may seem seem minuscule to us adults, playing teaches so many valuable lessons. Playing teaches, teamwork, inclusion, tolerance and creativity. All of these are valuable in almost every career. While computers and tablets are wonderful, this is not enough. What better way to teach them social skills than by actually encouraging them to interact with one another? If they are having fun in the process, they won't even realize that they are learning. Why not kill two birds with one stone? Help give these overworked brains of my fourth graders a brain break. Not only will they be more physically active, but they will also be learning life lessons at the same time.
