This book storage cart will make it easier for my students to find a book that that they love. They can look for a book that we have read together and that they would like to explore on their own. The storage will allow kids to take ownership in checking books out and returning them. These new books will give students characters that they can relate to. The characters in these books are a good representation of the students currently in my school. After reading aloud together, students can revisit the books alone or with friends to continue noticing, thinking, and reflecting. The books on this list will also allow the students to participate in the global read aloud, which will help set a purpose for their reading and offer opportunities to do more with what they learn from their reading.
