Flexible seating gives students the chance to choose where they want to work. During the last half of the school year, I let my students choose where they sat when they were working. Currently, my students have the choice of sitting at their seat, on the floor, or in one of my two saucer folding chairs. The addition of a counter height table with stools will give my students the chance to work together and the option to stand or sit while doing so. A rocking chair gives the student the chance to move while working. Students, like the rest of us, have the need to move throughout the school day. I have clipboards students can use while working in the rocking chair.
