It is incredibly important that students have a variety of books to choose from while they are still learning how to find the right book for them and figuring out their interests. I hope to build a classroom library that meets the needs of my students and encourages them to become life-long readers. Reading for pleasure helps students build social skills, improve empathy and better their understanding of their own identity. When there are options for children to choose from it gives them a better chance of finding a book that sparks their interest. My aspiration is to help students learn to love literature and find books they can love, learn from and relate to.

About my class
