Students are more engaged and less distracted when they are given a choice of where to sit in the classroom. Currently, during independent work time, my students choose to sit around the room on the floor with clipboards, at different tables, sitting leaning against the wall with pillows. I want to give my students more comfortable options. The seating options in this project will give my “antsy” students the ability to sit at a table and “wobble” in order to keep their distractions to a minimum. The seating options will also allow my students to sit more freely around the room while having a comfortable seat to support their backs.
