There is a variety of supplies needed to make my own labs. Pre-made labs are expensive so just getting the supplies necessary for me to make my own labs for them is all that is really necessary. My students just want to apply what they learn in the classroom for real growth! There are clipboards so that I can use flexible seating in my classroom to spice things up! We will be taking these clipboards outside so that my students can gather data from their environment and make observations about the world around them. I chose a variety of things for them to keep them engaged in every topic of my class. For my students to see how humans directly affect the environment I chose the Oil Spill STEM kit. This will be used in both my Biology classes as well as my Chemistry classes. For this same lab we will need to use eyedroppers as one means to clean up the oil spill. For students to see biodiversity I selected the See it Grow Plant Lab as well as the Skeleton Set. I would love to not only teach my students about their role in helping preserve this Earth they live on but also to find and engineer ways to be sustainable. I chose magnets and electricity labs so that my students can learn to build various types of solar panels. Nothing is cooler than building solar panels and having the students see how they can run everyday things.
