In the lower grades, quickly finding a good place to sit for mini-lessons is important. The individual seating space this carpet provides will help students make quick transitions to the carpet area for those mini-lessons. With a clearly defined space, students will know where to sit and be able to better focus on learning. On a daily basis, we do 15-20 minute mini-lessons to keep students engaged, then students do individual or partner work. This carpet will create a meeting place for the mini-lessons in every subject. It will also give students a place to sit or lay comfortably to read their books or to write their stories!
