My goal is to start our day off with active, purposeful learning. As students come in at varying times, the class is able to get started on the day with students getting "behind" on learning if the student comes in late or goes to breakfast. These bins work on classroom cultural, kind words, sharing and intentional play. This also allows us a time to play and transition from kindergarten to the academic rigor of first grade. My goal is to give them opportunities to learn together, as well as give the teacher a chance to do the required morning routine and work one on one with students.
