Education through technology is the wave of the future. Children at all ages are accustomed to viewing information through digital devices. TV shows, movies, video games, and even books are viewed through digital devices. Education should be no different. Students are more actively engaged when technology is involved. This applies even more so in our special education K-8 D75 Elementary/Middle School. In my classroom, all of my students are classified with emotional disturbance, many are also classified with ADHD. Staying focused for extended periods of time is difficult for these students. However, when education is taught through something familiar, like computers, the students are much more attentive and much more comfortable when it comes to the learning process. I am requesting laptops for these exact reasons: to keep my students engaged and to teach through something that is comfortable to them. I am trained and certified in many programs such as Hellosmart, Raz Kids, Kahoot, Flowcabulary, and Prodigy which all require technology. Please fund this project to help these students. Thank you!
