One thing I love to have my students do is explore! We use books to take us on adventures, but sometimes they don't always understand what we are reading about. I explain as much as I can in words, but nothing beats seeing and experiencing it for themselves. These tablets will help my students to become independent explorers. I am going to teach my students proper internet exploration procedures and ensure that they know how to locate a good resource. I want my students to have unlimited, but safe, exploration at their fingertips. Other ways in which the tablets will be used are as follows: calm down station, extra reading and math practice, an extra way to get in computer time when the the classroom computer is occupied, and to travel the world this school year with our "Around the World theme!"
