Students will draw and paint murals and make our school a school they are proud of! I will have three, year-long classes using these supplies every day to go out into our schools and decorate update renew parts of the school! Getting students excited about their school and learning environment opens doors for the enjoyment of education that students these days fail to have otherwise. My class will give the students a chance to work together to decorate the classrooms and walls as they desire (within reason and with adult supervision, of course). With the hope of this bringing excitement, pride, and ownership to the students which in turn is proven to make them want to try harder, work harder and respect their environment. These students don’t always have every opportunity other students their age do, but by raising money for their supplies that automatically shows them there are people who believe in them! With the materials I have asked for, my students will be allowed to create and mold the school into THEIR school.
