SUNRISE is a self-contained, special education program in an urban district. Our goal is to provide students with the necessary skills to return to a mainstream setting. Skills include how to effectively regulate emotions, verbalize their needs and demonstrate positive behaviors in the classroom setting. We focus on mindfulness practices and restorative approaches. We have LIMITED means to assist the students in reaching this goal and are looking for help with some tools! These tools will help students learn how to cope and regulate their emotions by promoting mindfulness. When students are calm and regulated they are available to learn!
