My 5th-grade students are just 3 weeks into the school year but already anxious to get reading and writing longer, more complex texts. Unfortunately, our school does not provide book bins to organize their materials or a full set of composition books to use for their reading and writing journals. These are both so important to get students to feel real ownership of their materials and for capturing key information and learning throughout the day. With these last few items, we will be able to get our students reading and writing on or above grade-level in no time! They will be so excited to receive these materials and use them in the year ahead.

About my class
