These books will enhance the opportunity for students to choose books to read within their 'Book Clubs'. All of these books have been chosen with students in mind-focusing on titles that connect to immigration (both a personal connection as well as a curricular connection to fourth-grade social studies). With sets of six, students will be able to choose books for their small group = allowing them the opportunity to become invested in their reading from the start. With these new books, students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read collaboratively at their own reading levels. The goal of 'Book Club' is for students to choose books that interest them - enhancing motivation and ultimately reading achievement. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. This project will only help enrich their experiences with building community and comprehension.
