Ever since we have returned to school in person, use of technology such as Chromebooks are helping to close educational gaps. In order to effectively use these, students need to be charged up! My limited classroom requires extension cords and powers strips to keep students connected. Moreover, to further close the educational gaps, student social and emotional needs are a priority. Help me create a visual environment that allows students to feel welcomed upon entry, that prompts literacy, and motivates them with positive words of affirmation so that learning can flourish! I plan to create a classroom corner for reading and destressing. The books selected are YA literature that students can relate and connect to. Not only is literacy vital to future success, but ensuring that our youth have safe places they know they can turn to in times of need matters. I want my students to know that they have a place in my classroom that they can come to in times of need. My hope is that creating such an environment deepens my students desires to learn, and creates meaningful connections and kindness.
