My typical class consists of 30 students, all at different levels. Many of the students have a true interest in history but have different learning styles. Many of these students lose interest in reading from the book, listening to me talk, or watch videos on the topic. Our school is rapidly switching to the center approach, and it really builds interest in the topics being taught. However, we are lacking in materials to provide adequate learning experiences during center time. Comprehension games with presidents, geography cards, and state matching puzzles will go a long way to increase my students knowledge in Social Studies.
