The materials in this project will help expose my young pre-k students to science, technology, engineering and mathematics concepts in an age-appropriate way. Because young students learn best through interacting and manipulating their environment through hands-on experiences, it is important that I provide my students with these opportunities everyday in the classroom. By building structures with tiles and sticks, to coding the mouse to learn letters, my students will learn relevant skills that will prepare them for the future. Young students are curious and resilient. I want to use these STEM building materials to not only teach concepts, but also teach independence and creativity. They will use these materials daily to build, review and try again. They will have to "think outside the box". It is my hope that these materials get my young students excited about playing and learning at school!
