My students have a common interest in book genres. They absolutely love fiction, graphic novels, and humorous adventure books! Our classroom needs multiple books so all students have access to something that peaks their interest. The past three years, I have gotten the most requests for the Dork Diaries series, Owl Diaries series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, Dog Man series, and The Never Girls series. Having enough books that will engage students is crucial in sustaining my students' love for reading. Research has shown that by consistently reading just 20 minutes a day, students will be exposed to over 1.8 million words a year!
