While my classroom has the basic furniture it will need for my students it lacks a table to perform small group activities at. The table that I am requesting will help to fulfill this deficit in my classroom. Students will be able to come to the small group area during different times in the day. These times include center times for extra help with specific content standards, guided reading, and general small group time. The benefit of this type of table is that the teacher is within an arm's reach of each student. Children are more focused when they are in close proximity to the teacher, and when children are focused, they are able to make greater strides in their academic success.
