In prior classrooms I have had the opportunity to teach and observe in, the classroom rug has been a vital location. It has been deemed a favorite spot to learn because students are easily able to converse with their carpet partners during share and pairs and everyone has the same view of the teacher. Classroom rugs have also proven to be a favorite place for me, as the teacher, to give lessons because there are less distractions, in turn, students seem more engaged. A classroom rug serves as a space for a class to come together to learn, grow and form relationships. It is a location in the classroom where each student is valued, respected, and important.

About my class
