Diving into a good book inspires students to think, create, and learn. Finding a great read aloud is the first step to teaching students so many wonderful things. Read alouds are great for teaching a variety of standards and learning targets. However, they also teach us about empathy, compassion, and are just perfect for entertainment! It is nice to have read alouds that go well with different seasons and holidays. I also enjoy using a great book to teach classroom routines, rules, and social skills.
