These seating choices will help students better focus in the classroom and provide a movement rich environment. Flexible seating allows students small movements while learning, giving them a better opportunity to focus in the classroom. I strive to create a student centered environment that allows students choices in their learning. Seating choices empower students to take charge of their learning. Students are able to learn how to independently problem solve their seating choices to benefit their learning in the classroom. This prepares students for the future when they are making decisions that will shape their lives. Our classroom is a community and flexible seating gives students ownership of their classroom together, not just their desk. Students work together to create comfortable learning environments for everyone. Flexible seating also helps create equity in the classroom as not every student is a desk and chair learner.
