The tables and chairs will make a difference in my students' learning by allowing them to work in critical thinking communities to accomplish goals within the classroom. They will be able to collaborate with classmates and learn from each other. Students often shy away in whole group learning, but they are more likely to participate in small cooperative groups. This gives every student a voice. All students need to feel included and feel as though their thoughts matter. We will use these tables as centers of discussion and collaboration for think-pair-shares, peer editing, jigsaw groups, fishbowl discussion, etc. I look forward to seeing my students flourish as readers and writers through these critical thinking communities.
