Genius Hour is a project in the classroom where students are allowed to explore their own passions for an hour a week. Teachers empower students by allowing them to pick a topic of their own, focus around an inquiry based question. At the end of each project, students present their information in different ways to their peers, family members, and the community. What better way than to make others a genius over a topic! By having ipads in the classroom, I can enhance student digital creation using other means of technology besides a chromebook. Ipads allow students to explore different applications. Another aspect of this project is to encourage and promote student self reflection when completing science process skills and lab work.
