I have been using flexible seating in my room for the last two years and have seen a decrease in misbehavior as well as an increase in productivity. Students seem more calm and comfortable when they have a safe way to let out some of their wiggles or to stretch out and work in a way that is comfortable to them. Movement during working and learning helps to increase blood flow to the brain as well as improves core strength. Having the students choose their own seats not only has them take ownership of their learning, but it helps them feel like more of a community, since we share all of our resources. By donating to my project, you will be giving my students more variety of seating choices to choose from and you will also be helping to replace some worn out items that have been used with much love the last two years. I feel passionately about having a safe, comfortable space for students to learn in a community and you could help make my dream more of a reality!
