Hello! This is my first year teaching and will be working with 14-16 kindergarten students in a rural, Montana school this coming August. Although the district has many low-income students, the community truly cares for these children and the potential each one of them has. These kindergartners are about to embark on an adventure unlike any other: they will learn how to safely hold scissors, form a sentence that will later become a paragraph, discover all the possibilities that hide between the pages of a book, and will learn, not only about individual numbers, but about how numbers can be manipulated to make sense of the world around them. Essentially, they will be learning the foundation of the skills they will need moving forward and I am so excited to cultivate the learning that can take place in a kindergarten classroom.
