As a Math teacher, one of the biggest challenges I face is motivating students to show their work and explain their thinking. With this project, students will be able to have access to a resource that allows them to show their work and express their thinking in a much more engaging format than simply using pencil and paper. My students have loved to use Expo markers and solve problems on their desks; however, this method has proven to be very expensive and requires a large amount of time spent cleaning up. With these digital writing tablets, my students will be able to feel the same increased engagement without the negatives of a recurring cost to replenish expo markers and erasers or spending valuable learning time cleaning off desks.
