I am switching to Kindergarten this year, and I've spent a lot of time over the summer working on lesson plans for our new Language Arts curriculum, as well as, fun ways for students to practice fine motor skills. Unfortunately, when I went to school to print, I learned that we no longer had access to a color printer.
By donating a color printer and ink you will help make learning more engaging and visually appealing, which in turn will increase their academic achievement. Young children learn so much through "play", so being able to print examples of activities in color will make their learning seem more like a game instead of "school work."
By having color ink, I will be able to print visual cue cards and "I can statements" for students to follow. Examples of visual cue cards and "I can statements" include:
- I can connect beads to make patterns. (SKILL: math & fine motor)
- I can find hidden objects and sort them by shape. (SKILL: math & fine motor.)
- I can find hidden objects and sort them by color. (SKILL: LA and fine motor)
- I can use the links to connect the letters in my name. (SKILL: LA and fine motor)
- I can use links to put the letters of the alphabet in order. (SKILL: LA and fine motor)
- I can use links to put numbers my numbers in order. (SKILL: math & fine motor)
