Research shows that children learn language skills best in a natural setting. The children I work with all have language delays as well as needing help learning social skills. Imaginative play using dolls and other toys is one way to target these skills! My students will be able to learn, practice, and use their language skills in a safe, friendly environment while receiving the assistance they need from me. They will also be able to watch and learn from their peers in this environment. Having the right supplies and materials on hand are essential to teaching all students, especially students with special needs. These materials will enable me to create a natural learning atmosphere with the added help they need to succeed in school and their community.
