Our CSS-transition students have been working really hard designing and packaging t-shirts for our enterprise. Despite their lack of ability to communicate to express their needs and wants, they have demonstrated that through patience and perseverance, nothing is impossible. Our goal is for our students to leave our school with a skill that can help them support their families in all aspects of life. With this kit, students will sort t-shirts by color and size, hang t-shirts using hangers, and continue to practice folding t-shirts using a folding board independently. In addition, our students can also practice doing laundry at home. These skills have been taught and introduced at school, as these learning outcomes correlate to their IEP goals. As we continue to navigate this virtual learning instruction due to COVID-19, we hope to extend our instruction through this kit. Moreover, upon returning to school, these kits will be used as workboxes. This will greatly benefit our all students working toward independence.
