A classroom rug is an essential place in our classroom, where most of our learning takes place. We start and end our day on our classroom rug. We use the classroom rug to have Morning Meetings, listen to Read Alouds, participate in SmartBoard Activities, Whole Group lessons, and Center Time. When students come together as a class on the classroom rug many skills are being developed and friendships are built. This meeting space creates a classroom community. My students need a special and comfortable place of their own to sit and learn. They will be able to focus and be engaged during lessons and activities.
