Flexible seating will allow my students to be aware of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During center time my students can choose to work at their desks in a standard school chair that may be too hard for some students or on the carpet. We also have silent reading time that allows students to sit and read a book. Many students are standing hunched over their desk or using pillow cushions on the school chairs. I have noticed that when they use these cushions they are more engaged in what they are doing. The supplies that I have selected will increase learning and engagement. Students will feel more comfortable in the classroom and focus on the task at hand with the above mentioned supplies. I have noticed that students perform better when given options. These supplies will increase student motivation and increase their love for learning.
