Currently our school does not have a science or social studies curriculum. Scholastic News and Science Spin would be great resources to expose my students to what is currently happening in the world around them as well as new scientific findings. Scholastic News magazines will allow my students to make connections to the real world. Science Spin will allow my students to learn about their environment. These magazines also offer a wealth of online resources that will keep my students engaged as well as develop a thirst for knowledge. Scholastic News and Science Spin will provide my students with the opportunity to read brief, non-fiction passages about science and social studies while increasing literacy. The activities included with each issue will allow the students to practice vital comprehension skills.
