As we hopefully return to the classroom, I hope to bring some of the skills and tools I learned from virtual class to the real classroom. Using technology can really increase student engagement and participation. An apple ipod and accessories can allow me in real time to move around the classrooom and annotate slides that are projected on the board. I can add notes, show physiology and pathophysilogy (such as blood flow through the heart and what happens when there is a blockage) or I can pass the iPad along to a student and ask them to annotate or engage in the topic being discussed. I can ask a student to draw out the normal EKG heartbeat and then the class and I can give feedback or provide assistance. This current technology can give serve as an assest to student learning and retention. With uncertain times upon us now and not knowing how covid will affect student attendance, I will be able to use the iPad to record live lectures for students to use at any time. I feel that having up to date technology and using it to engage students is an integral part of teaching in today's world.
