Each of the literacy materials being requested will help both my current Pre-K Stars and future Pre-K Stars grow and develop essential academic skills based on their academic level. The materials can be adapted to meet the needs of each student and can be utilized for all parts of the instructional day including, whole group, small group, and center time activities. While one group of students may be pulled for letter recognition or sounds, others may be ready to begin working on beginning and ending sounds or sounding out words. These manipulatives allow me to create whole group learning activities, while also adapting them and using them in a variety of ways with multiple children throughout the day based on their individual learning needs. Each literacy manipulative requested can be used for years to come. While the materials requested are literacy-based, many can also be used to teach essential math skills such as sorting, counting, color recognition, one-to-one correspondence, and much more! Children can build, design, problem-solve, engage with one another, and have fun learning with each of these materials. I have a passion for learning and want to share that passion with my students. These materials will allow me to do that, both in-person and during Distance Learning. My goal is to use these literacy manipulatives to help each student grow and gain new academic skills while actively engaging them in activities that are fun and encourage their passion for learning.
