Students from all socioeconomic groups should have the opportunity to travel. This trip is expensive, and we have completed fundraising to help make it more affordable. Your donation will help fund my students' travel to Spain with EF by providing them with the tip money they need for tour guides and drivers. Student goals for this trip are to challenge thinking, build Spanish language proficiency, build confidence, learn about another culture, and, for some, become a leader within the group. Travel is important. Travel opens minds to new ideas and new perspectives. It is so easy to go day-to-day thinking that life is experiences in one way. But the world is diverse! Travel can help students get out of their comfort zone, which can help students to navigate the world they are about to enter. It also builds confidence. Our world is becoming more and more globalized. Students will need cultural sensitivity and an understanding that cultures differ from their own. Seeing this diversity will help them to grow and help them to put their own life in perspective. The money donated to this project covers the tip money students need for travel guides, etc. It will only partially fund this trip. Students have fundraised and paid for the other parts of the trip.
