My project will provide my classroom with much needed hands-on, minds-on board games and activities. Students spend a great majority of their free time on electronic devices. I have noticed a decline in student social/emotional health over the years. A decrease in problem solving skills, difficulties working with others, and basic communication skills are just a few areas where students struggle. This, I believe, is a result of the overuse of electronic devices. I would love to provide an un-plugged option for my students so they can re-connect with each other....the "Old School Way!" The variety of board games chosen will not only be engaging and fun but will also strengthen math and literacy skills.
