In my classroom, I nurture the "movers and shakers". I would love to provide my students with flexible seating options that will allow for whole brain learning and classroom participation. When a student has the option for flexible seating, it supports collaborative learning and creativity among the students. A student's choice in seating will give them a sense of independence, but allow for collaboration as well. Students taking ownership in their seating gives them a sense of responsibility that fosters learning. Not only academic progress but social emotional learning is supported through flexible seating.
