Help me provide a gathering rug for all of my students. Students will all be able to sit together on this rug. It will allow a group of 20 students to sit together in a space. Each child will have his or her own area in which to learn. Imagine lots of deep discussion taking place here. Instead of traditional worksheets, students will engage in discussion of characters and their traits. Students will talk with their classmates about history and science. They will be able to spread out while they solve mathematical equations. It is important to have a variety of teaching spaces in the classroom. This rug will provide a space for Morning Meeting where all students have a spot. We will begin and end our day here goal setting and encouraging each other.
