The materials that you will help provide will lay the foundation for our flexible seating opportunity in our classroom. Flexible seating is a wonderful way for students to learn how to make choices that are effective and take ownership of their learning. Being a first year teacher, I have seen my students more engaged in their work if they are able to sit in a way that is more comfortable for them, however, this is hard to do when I do not have the appropriate materials. The tables will be used in order to give my first graders the flexible seating options he/she deserves. Each table will have a different seating option for them to sit at, whether that may be a seat cushion or a wobble chair. I know all of my students are and can be successful, and I want to make sure I am giving them every opportunity to do that.
