Our students have little to no access to computers on our school campus. We currently have one computer lab that is mainly used for testing. Our 1,700 students have to share a few computer carts across the whole school. Given the huge advancements in online curriculum and educational software, it is a major disadvantage for my students not to have regular access to technology. Having Chromebooks will revolutionize the way students access information for research. Hardly any of my students have a computer at home so it’s vital that they have the opportunity at school. My students are eager to acquire new skills. I have no doubt technology will create a fair and equitable learning environment for my students and help close achievement gaps.
