This year I am looking to transform my classroom into a rainbow-themed classroom to help remind my students throughout the year that they are bright, brilliant, beautiful, and no matter their circumstances, they are more than capable of doing what they set their minds to. I want to incorporate flexible seating this year as I have learned that flexible seating empowers students. When students feel they have some control over their environment, they are often more engaged and perform better academically. During independent work times, they will choose a location in the classroom that works best for them. I have seen how flexible seating choices can positively affect student's work and demeanor and hope that these products will help us grow even more! I am looking to offer my students the options of different tables of different heights, sitting under tables with clipboards, sitting or lying on the floor with a clipboard, bean bag chairs, wobbly/rocker chairs, lap desk, etc. I believe that ensuring that my students are comfortable will help to keep them motivated and engaged, as well as help with eliminating classroom disruptions.
