My students require a multi-sensory approach in order to engage them in learning. Most of my students have a speech-language impairment and are completely nonverbal. Many of my students also have Cortical Visually Impairment and are required brightly lit and colored materials to learn. There’s a great wealth of iPad apps that are geared toward students with disabilities and I think they would be a great resource in our room. Our school has iPads but were not allowed to fit them with the apps that our students need to build skills in the areas of cause and effect and communication. Applications like HelpKidzLearn and GoTalk Now would help my students learn to communicate their wants and needs more effectively.
