During whole group instruction, my students typically sit on the carpet while learning. With my new classroom being all tile, it would be hard getting 5 year olds to listen if their little bodies were on a hard floor. I immediately knew I would have to create a donors choose for a rug because almost all instruction occurs right by the whiteboard, which means students are on the floor. This rug will be used each and every day and would make the learning process much easier and more comfortable for the students. The carpet will not only be used for instruction, but also with community building. Picture this: students surrounding the perimeter of a carpet sharing about their day in school, faces filled with joy as others are egar to learn.
