I teach a 2/3 (which may become a 3/4 next year) Special Day Class with students who have Speech and Language Impairments. Our school is a K-5 elementary school in Oakland, CA. All of the students receive free or reduced rate lunches. These students are very bright and are cognitively equal to their same age peers. Due to their speech and language impairments, though, they struggle with the curriculum. They either have a hard time with comprehension, ability to think outside the box or dealing with change. Often, the students know a concept but if it is presented to them in a way they do not recognize, they think that they do not know how to do it. This is the reason I am requesting these test preparation materials.
