My name is Miss Stewart. I am a 4th-grade Math teacher at the District of Columbia Public Schools. I work at Whittier Elementary School in Northwest, DC. I am an educator to many but to a group of 60 amazing learners. At Whittier, we strive to cultivate a community of visionaries who lead with empathy to better serve the stakeholders in the community, determination to overcome any obstacle they face, and are culturally aware to make the best-informed decisions for the future. At Whittier, we support the whole child. As an educator, supporting and providing resources for the school community provides an effective learning space. Our school believes that all children can succeed when given a nurturing environment, which fosters high expectations and the necessary tools to achieve the desired goals within the classroom and outside of the classroom. We are a student centered school that pledges to serve the whole child.
