Our students at our school are 99% low-income. This means many need help getting supplies. Our Math curriculum is very rigorous, and my current class is ready for 7th grade but need more advanced content to challenge them! The Algebra we will be doing requires them to have scientific calculators. Many cannot afford them. We also will be starting "Math Journals". These will be an essential part of every Math class. They will complete the majority of their assignments and also learn to express their thoughts about Mathematical processes. Students also struggle with having pens instead of pencils for Math class. My plan is to have erasable pens for them connected to each seat so there is never an excuse to not succeed!
